Dissertation? What dissertation? Wait, you mean I'm supposed to be studyi- no, writing?! Surely, you can't be serious!
I came across this scan (thank you, SquirrelLuvsPnut!) two days ago and came to the conclusion that it was simple enough to not be a major headache. You see, I've gone literally months without opening Illustrator, so saying I'm rusty would be a frickin' understatement. I wanted something to do in Photoshop, something that preferably wouldn't take more to do than my disserta- yeah, that.
I toyed around with a few art nouveau-like ideas until I finally gave up and googled some posters to not look like a doofus. Found a frame, flipped it and ended up vectoring it because the quality wasn't ~pristine~...which was good, since I kept resizing like crazy and shape layers are a godsend. Next I figured the whole thing didn't really look art nouveau-ish so I made a crescent moon + lily "plates" at the top. The lily had the same story as the frame, amusingly enough. Copy/pasting those plates was the most satisfying part of all this, unf.
The wall has a subtle noise texture but I doubt it's visible on small resolutions, when it's barely visible on 5600 x something.
In the end I did more work than I expected. And Christ, only two days? I should procrastinate more often!
Eh. Praise and tomatoes are appreciated, sankyuu~
Oh, and if anyone wants alternate color schemes, leave a message/comment with the resolution and color scheme you want.
I'm too stumped to think of any ATM >A<

Higher resolutions:

You've been warned, don't blame me if your PC/phone dies lol.
